Q. How can I edit a Google Drive document I don't own?

  1. Open the template you want to be able to edit.
  2. Click on File and then Make a copy.
  3. Click on the box beneath folder.  This will let you select where you want to put the copy.  You can choose My Drive for it to quickly be available.  Once a folder is selected, click Select.
  4. You can rename the document so it is easier to find.  Click in the box, erase its contents, and type in a name that will be easy to find later.
  5. A new window with your copy will pop up.  You will be able to edit the document and it will automatically save in your drive.
