DOI stands for digital object identifier (DOI) used to identify objects uniquely, standardized by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). DOIs are used mainly to identify academic, professional, and government information, such as journal articles, research reports and data sets.
For Library Databases, many times the DOI can be found on the detailed record screen of an article. Click on the TITLE of the article to bring up that screen and scroll down until you see it listed. The DOI can sometimes be printed with the article itself, usually on the first page somewhere, or in the header or footer. If no DOI can be found, the next best thing is to look for a Permanent link that can be used instead.
