By default, your web browser stores cookies and other information about sites you visit.  Clearing your browser cache is often the easiest way to fix connection issues with library databases.

To clear your cache in Google Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click on the three dots  to open the menu.
  3. Click Delete browsing data.
  4. Choose a time range, like Last hour or All time.
  5. Select the types of information you want to remove.
  6. Click Delete data.
    • If you delete cookies while signed in to Chrome, you won't be signed out of your Google Account.

Set Chrome to automatically clear some cache items when it closes

This setting can help prevent caching errors by tidying up each time you exit Chrome. It may not work if you stay signed into your Google Chrome account.
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click on the three dots More to open the menu.
  3. Choose Settings.
  4. Locate Privacy and Security on the left menu.
  5. Under Privacy and Security, choose button for Site Settings.
  6. Under Site Settings, find the Content section and choose Additional Content Settings.
  7. Find the option for On-device Site Data.
  8. Choose the option to Delete data sites have saved to your device when you close all windows.
