Using Notify Me in Libby

You can request an eBook or audiobook by using the Notify Me tag in the Libby app. When searching through the TSTC Library OverDrive collection in Libby, you will probably discover eBooks or audiobooks you would like to access that the library does not have. These titles will have a Notify Me button (instead of Borrow or Place Hold) next to them. Selecting Notify Me sets up a smart tag in Libby that will alert the library you are interested in the title(s). Notify Me will then alert you if the library acquires the title.

Here is how to use Notify Me:

1. Search for a title, author, or series

2. If you don’t see the title that you are interested in, scroll to the bottom of the search results screen, then click or tap deep search.

Tip: You can find the deep search button in the filters list too.

3. Here is what the deep search results look like. Browse the new list for the title you're interested in.

Note: Some books have never been published digitally, and some digital titles may not be available for purchase by your library.

4. Click Notify Me. You'll be prompted to set up a Notify Me smart tag or use one you've already set up.

Note: If you see a book with a blue and red card icon next to it (like the second title in the image) that indicates the library already has the title in its collection.

This is what you will see when you click or tap Notify Me

5. Once you have set up a Notify Me tag, a yellow bell icon will appear next to the title.

The library will receive a notification about the book you are interested in. If the library acquires the eBook or audiobook you tagged, then you will be notified and have the option to borrow or place the title on hold (depending on its availability).
