Plagiarism is the copying of someone's work and presenting it as your own. Along with cheating in any form, plagiarism is discussed in TSTC's Student Code of Conduct.

Read through the Acts of Academic Dishonesty section for information about the repercussions of plagiarism or other academic integrity offences.

Always cite your sources. See TSTC's Library Services Citation Guide for information on how to cite or make a research appointment with a librarian.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.)

Plagiarism means claiming another’s work as one’s own without acknowledging its origin and doing so for credit. While TSTC recognizes the benefits of technological advancements in supporting student success, students are expected to use these tools responsibly and ethically. Plagiarism includes the use of artificial intelligence (AI) not as a research or learning aid but as a means to generate work that should originate from the student. This applies to assignments or courses where AI use is restricted or prohibited by the instructor.
