Q. Why can’t I access the most recent issues of some journals and newspapers?

The delayed access to online journals is usually due to publisher restrictions and is known as an “embargo period.” In academic publishing, the embargo period often restricts new content to paying users for a determined length of time (often anywhere from one day to one year or more).

Some databases may have content that others embargo, so the first thing you should check is whether the content you need has more recent availability in a different database. The library can help you check whether this is the case.
